Litsea cubeba
Refreshing, warming, boosts circulation, reduces discomfort from tired muscles
Also known as May Chang, litsea is a warming, refreshing, uplifting oil that helps to calm and soothe frayed nerves. Its antiseptic and skin-balancing properties are particularly valued in skincare preparations.
Litsea is also called Chinese pepper, because its berries resemble peppercorns. All the parts of the plant contain oil, but it is the hard berries that yield the highest quality. In spite of its lemony scent, it is a relative of cinnamon and other fragrant members of the laurel family.
