Shiatsu

Shiatsu is an ancient therapy born in Japan, whose meaning we can translate as “pressure (atsu) with the fingers (shi)”. Born from the Anma technique, from its base also the work of meridians according to traditional Chinese medicine, shiatsu consists of the application of gentle but deep pressure along these energetic pathways that flow through the body, to balance and restore energy, contributing to the homeostasis. Techniques include breathing exercises, stretching, percussion and massage. It is a non-invasive technique, being practiced with clothes, usually on the floor on a Japanese mattress, but also adapted to the table.
